DB Schenker Trade Solutions is the proud recipient of the first annual 2021 “Technology Innovation as a Provider” award from the American World Trade Chamber of Commerce (AWTCC). This award recognizes our website ts.dbschenker.com, which was redesigned in 2020, as a valuable resource for exporters. Why did DB Schenker receive this award? We sat down with Brian Smith, Director at AWTCC, to learn more about the award and why they chose us.
“What you guys have done is really kind of amazing,” says Smith, “it’s not repeated elsewhere.” He explains: “the site is easy to navigate and find what you need — insurance, training, letters of credit, carnets — it’s all available in one place. And vetted: I think that’s the key.” How so? “A lot of exporters are hunting around for information … obviously you can search any topic and find information, but is the information any good? By going to a site like yours, you know the information is reliable.”
As for vetting, Smith elaborates, “for example, there are a lot of providers out there, so the question becomes: how to do you find someone reputable? To me, that’s the most valuable part of your website.” He also mentions the need for good online training: “exporters are very cautious; you want to make sure you’re getting good training. But I would feel completely safe directing our members to the Trade Solutions website.” Smith continues, “There’s so much bad information out there. The fact that DB Schenker carefully vets all its offerings makes the difference.”
