As retail fashion goods makers around the globe come up with creative ways of reaching their customers, DB Schenker Brazil is stepping in to help them make those valuable connections. Both within the country’s five main shopping hubs of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Brasília, and Minas Gerais, and in countryside areas, the logistics provider now offers a white glove service for retail fashion brands that demand a high level of attention and quality.
Through its new DBSchenkerRunway Product, DB Schenker is taking its existing, successful retail fashion logistics model to new heights. With a dedicated fashion desk staffed with more than 70 professionals, uniformed delivery personnel, and soon-to-come fleet of 100% electric vehicles, the company is answering its customers’ requests for an upscale logistics and transportation offering.
Making the Cut
A business unit that has grown substantially in recent years, DB Schenker Brazil’s land transport segment is known for providing a high level of service and a team of professionals with years of experience managing the segment. Through its personalized service division for retail fashion goods manufacturers, the company is providing transport to and from the main Brazilian ports and airports to its customers, distribution centers, and warehouses (and vice versa).
DB Schenker is also handling the transfer of goods from store-to-store (for exchanging inventory between locations), and from store to retail outlets that are situated outside of the country’s five major shopping hubs. As part of its commitment to the sector, DB Schenker always factors in the aesthetic requirements of its retail fashion customers. For example, extra care is taken to ensure that all deliveries are clean and ready to send out to the boutique floor.
The same care is taken at the distribution center, where DB Schenker handles the storage, fulfillment, cross-docking, packing, and shipping for a wide range manufacturers. Other white glove services include real-time tracking and 100% supply chain visibility across all orders and deliveries, and insurance to cover all operations against theft, damage, and civil liability.
Reducing CO2 and Staying Safe
With much of the fashion world working toward becoming more environmentally-conscious, DB Schenker is supporting the movement by rolling out some 100% electric truck to their fleet till the end of this year. These modern, electric vehicles will help lower CO2 emissions, are equipped with hydraulic platforms, and are customized for the retail fashion goods market.
Like DB Schenker’s existing fleet in Brazil, the electric trucks will all be equipped with modern tracking technology, including two transmission channels that continually send signals back to central control.
To ensure high levels of security of the goods as they make their way around the country, DB Schenker relies on a team of trained drivers and helpers who meet the delivery requirements of the main malls and stores and who wear uniforms developed specifically for the DBSchenkerRunway Product.
“The entire team goes through a screening process that assesses their professional history, background, and other important factors,” says Marcos Godoy, Head of Land Transport-DB Schenker Brazil. This gives clients peace of mind that their high-value goods are well protected in the supply chain.
“With our DBSchenkerRunway Product,” Godoy added, “we’re providing a complete, modern, and safe service portfolio and allowing our clients to focus on their core businesses.”
Client and Environment Focus
“Our new VIP service is 100% focused on brands’ complex logistics needs,” said Andre Aragao, Key Account Manager, VM Luxury, Fashion & Retail for DB Schenker Brazil. “and—along with most of the fashion segment worldwide—is also committed to supporting the global environment. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
