DB Schenker is establishing a warehouse and distribution center in Gothenburg, Sweden for Stanley Black & Decker, the world’s biggest manufacturer of tools and garden products.
A logistics facility operated by DB Schenker in Gothenburg, Sweden, will soon begin serving as a warehouse und distribution center for Europe’s Nordic region, and this will result in significantly shortened lead times. Each year the manufacturer receives about 150,000 orders from this economically powerful region – and until now these orders had to be filled from a warehouse in Belgium.
“Establishing a warehouse in the Nordic region is an extremely important investment in delivering the right service to our customers,” said Kristian Paulsen, Vice President & General Manager Nordic at Stanley Black & Decker. The move to Gothenburg is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018. DB Schenker will be making about 12,000 square meters of warehouse space available and looking after customers with a team of 50 to 60 employees.
