DB Schenker (India) currently has 37 office locations and 53 warehousing facilities across the country.
They are now adding to this with a 55,000-square-foot logistics facility in Ahmedabad, India, to serve customers in the western region.
The Schenker Logistics Center, located 370 kilometers (about 230 miles) from Mundra Port and major industrial locations, is designed to offer customers logistics and warehousing solutions, such as last-mile delivery and value-added services.
“It will be an important part of DB Schenker’s network in India for end-to-end supply chain solutions to its customers,” the company said in a written statement.
“The opening of our logistics center in Ahmedabad is part of our overall strategy to expand our warehousing capacity by 50 per cent to three million square feet,” said Shrichand Chimnani, director of logistics at DBSchenker (India), a unit of Germany’s DB Schenker, part of the German rail group. “The Schenker Logistics Center, backed by the company’s deep domain expertise, is well positioned to cater to the burgeoning demand for quality integrated logistics solutions in the Gujarat region.”
